FORMATION OF YOUTH COMMISSION
The consensus of the Committee was to create a Youth
Commission as recommended by the Youth Committee. The Village
Attorney was also directed to prepare an ordinance authorizing
the formation of the Youth Commission for approval at the October
14, 1997 Village Board meeting.
OAKTON STRFET SPEED L•IM_IT
The consensus of the Committee was to approve the mass
mailing of the letter to residents on Oakton Street with the
inclusion of the DuPage Mayors & Managers brochure on residential
speed limits.

The consensus of the Committee was to have the Village renew
its membership in IML and to have a resolution authorizing
membership in IML placed on the Consent Agenda for approval at
the October 14, 1997 Village Board meeting.

The consensus of the Committee was to schedule construction
of the Salt Storage Dome at 1060 Oakton Avenue for the spring of
1998.,
INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE FEE
The consensus of the Committee was to have the Village
Attorney prepare an Infrastructure Maintenance Fee (IMF)
ordinance for approval at the October 14, 1997 Village Board
meeting. The effective date of the ordinance will be October 1,
1997.
REFLECTIVE SAFETY MATERIALS
The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• to inform residents of the need for bicycle reflectors
through the newsletter and on "Lights and Sirens", and
• to have Trustee Prochno contact the VFW and request
their assistance in organizing a reflector safety
program.

The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• to waive the need for hotel/motel and corporate
exercise rooms to be licensed by the Village;
• to have the Village Attorney prepare an ordinance
clarifying that only exercise rooms open to the
general public need to be licensed by the Village, and
• to reimburse those companies which had already paid
for the exercise room business license.
SALT CREEK BIKEPATH INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGRFEMENT
The consensus of the Committee was to have the Village
Attorney provide an interpretation of the agreement language for
review by the Village Board prior to discussion at the October 14
Committee of the Whole meeting.
MAKP-A-DTFFERENCP DAY ACTIVITY
The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• President Johnson and Trustees Feichter, Lissner and
Petri would participate in a yardwaste clean-up
program; and
• Trustees Czarnik and Prochno would participate in the
Hattendorf Center project and the ABMC luncheon
activity.
O KTON STREET TRE STATION ENHANCFMFNTS
The consensus of the Committee was to approve the
recommended items and include the following items in the
construction/design of the Oakton Street Fire Station:
• electronic ballasts and T8 lamps in the overhead: troffers;
• compact fluorescent lamps in the recessed lighting cans; and
• a "light room" to provide intense lighting in response to
seasonal affective disorder (SAD) concerns.
The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
