The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• to install a circular shaped cul-de-sac relocated east
approximately 3 feet with a 2.5 foot berm between the
sidewalk and Arlington Heights Road right-of-way.
• to notify Cook County of the Village's intentions so
that a permit may be issued for the project in the
spring/summer of 1998;
• to have staff prepare a landscape plan for the parkway
and berm area to be reviewed by the Village Board in
conjunction with the impacted residents
• to advise the residents of the meeting to discuss the
landscape plan.
MUNICTPAL COMPLEX RKTN •OT •T HTTN
The consensus of the Village Board was to install metal
halide lamps with black fixtures in the Municipal Complex parking
lot to remain consistent with the lights in the Library and Town
Center parking lots.
WTR 9-2 -1 SURCHARGE LEGTSL.ATTON
The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the JPZ
recommendation as follows:
• to not pursue the passage of a wireless 9-1-1 surcharge
ordinance at this time;
• to allow the antenna/tower requests currently before the
Village to proceed;
• to draft a letter to all wireless companies operating in
Elk Grove notifying them of the Village's concern over 9-
1-1 implementation and the expectation that the issue
will be addressed by the General Assembly in the Spring
of 1998;
• to write State Representatives and Senators requesting
passage of wireless 9-1-1 surcharge legislation by the
General Assembly in the Spring of 1998; and
• to draft a letter to all NWCD communities informing them
of the Village's action and requesting them to do the
same.
TRICK-OR-TREAT HOURS
The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• to extend Trick-or-Treat hours to 8 p.m. ; and
• to survey local schools to determine if parents and
children would prefer to have Trick-or-Treat hours on
the Sunday before Halloween as opposed to on
Halloween.
An Ordinance formally adopting the hour changes will be
adopted following review of the survey results.
CURFEW HOURS
The consensus of the Committee was to extend the Village's
curfew by 30 minutes on weekdays and weekends to be consistent
with the curfew of neighboring communities. In addition, staff
was directed to prepare a letter to the City of Des Plaines
informing them of the Village's curfew change and requesting
their consideration to do the same. An ordinance adopting the
extended curfew hours will be placed on the January 13, 1997
Village Board agenda.
RECYCLING BROCHURE
The consensus of the Committee was to have the new Recycling
Brochure printed and mailed in mid-January after the holiday
season has concluded.
SPECIAL O'HARE NEWSLETTER
The consensus of the Committee was to authorize the mass
mailing of the Special O'Hare newsletter during the first week in
January subject to the following:
• including the sources of information provided in the
newsletter; and
• an invitation for residents and businesses to discuss the
O'Hare issue with the Saturday Coffees with the Village
Board.
I-290 BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS
The consensus of the Committee was to have staff prepare a
formal application for the next round of ISTEA funds approved by
Congress and to contact neighboring communities requesting formal
support of the I-290 bicycle/pedestrian bridge.
WELL SITE #3
The consensus of the Committee was to discuss this item at
the January 13, 1997 Committee of the Whole meeting.
