PUBLIC VEHICLE COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING
The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• to deny the existing requests for additional taxi cab licenses;
• to have staff notify the requesting companies that their requests were
denied; and
• to hold a hearing of the Public Vehicle Commission (Village Board) on
September 8, 1998 at 7:45 p.m. to consider an existing fare increase
request.
ICRC MEDIA RELATIONS
The consensus of the Committee was to utilize a professional consultant for
media relations related to the ICRC revitalization plan.
POLICE/FIRE CHARITY BALL
The consensus of the Committee was to allow free advertisement of the 1999
Police/Fire charity ball on the community events sign and to place articles on the
fund-raiser in upcoming editions of Village newsletters.
STATION #7 RENOVATIONS
The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the recommendation of
the Capital Improvements Committee to obtain bids for architectural and engineering
services for the renovation of Fire Station #7. The Village Manager also noted that
the bids will be combined with bids for the renovation of the Landmeier Public Works
facility in order to provide potential cost savings.
LIBRARY PARKING LOT TRAFFIC FLOW AND SIGNAGE
The consensus of the Committee was to honor the Library Board's requests for
their parking lot traffic flow and signage as follows:
• to make the entrance drive one-way in the eastern direction;
• to install diagonal parking spaces on the north side of the entrance
drive;
• to eliminate the three (3) decorative lights adjacent to the Library
building; and
• to concur with Civil Tech's recommendations for signage directing the
internal flow of traffic within the Library parking lot.
In addition, the consensus of the Committee was to have staff direct all
complaints regarding Library traffic to the Library administration.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Trustee Lissner moved, and Trustee Czarnik seconded a motion, to enter into
Executive Session to discuss matters of litigation, personnel and land acquisition.
Upon voting, the motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
and entered into Executive Session.
