CUCINA ROMA
The consensus of the Village Board was to permit Cucina Roma
to modify the signage and awning pian for Retail Building B of
the Town Center to allow the following:
East Tower
1 . Burgundy and black striped awnings with no words over the
front doors; and
2. Spectacular color-changing background with signage at the
top of the tower.
East Side
1. Burgundy and black striped awnings over each bay with
words "CUCINA ROMA" on each main panel and Italian food
names on each return.
North Side
1 . One awning on east end to complete look of awnings on
east side;
2. One awning on west end to even out look on north wall;
and --
3 . Illuminated channel letter sign in center of wall to be
seen from Biesterfield entrance to Town Center.
DECEMBER NEWSLETTER ARTICLES
The consensus of the Committee was to approve the
newsletters as submitted subject to minor changes and the _
addition of an article on the Village's Year 2000 compliance
efforts.
1999 COFFEE WITH THE VILLAGE BOARD SCHEDULE
The consensus of the Committee was to cancel the Coffee With
the Village Boards scheduled for the first Saturdays in January,
July and September due to conflicts with holiday weekends. All
other Coffees will take place on the first Saturday of each
month.
SATURDAY SERVICE AT VILLAGE HALL
The consensus of the Committee was to continue providing
services at the Finance and Engineering/Community Development
counters on the first Saturday of each month for one year and to
review the issue after that time. Service on the first Saturdays
in January, July and September will be cancelled due to conflicts
with holiday weekends.
YOUTH COMMISSION SUMMIT -
The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the Youth
Commission's recommendation to host a summit of Youth Commissions
of surrounding communities to discuss ideas, activities and
goals. The summit will take place on Saturday, January 9, 1999
at 10:00 a.m.
HIGGINS ROAD STRATEGIC ROUTE ARTERIAL (SRA)
The consensus of the Committee was send a letter to IDOT
stating the Village's position regarding the following IDOT
proposals for the Higgins Road SRA:
Arlington Heights to Wildwood Road - Oppose widening roadway
to six (6) lanes due to impacted homes on Little Higgins.
However, if IDOT proceeds with widening, Village residents
should have input on installation of soundproofing barriers.
Wildwood Road to Oakton Street - No objection due to no
residents being impacted.
Busse/Oakton Overpass - Request IDOT to explore alternatives
to limit impact on existing businesses. Do not concur with
the elimination of existing businesses.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AT MEACHAM/BEISTERFIELD
The consensus of the Committee was to not consider Cambridge
Homes ' request for a waiver of the land donation requirement for
their proposed single-family development at the southeast
intersection of Meacham and Biesterfield.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 11 :15 p.m.
