ELK GROVE FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND
MAY 19, 1988
A meeting of the Firemen's Pension Fund was held on Thursday, May 19, 1988 in
the Village Conferance Room, 901 Wellington Avenue. The meeting was called to
order by President Walter J. Kriesant at 8:13 A.M.
ROLL CALL
On Roll Call the following members were present: Walter J. Kriesant, George
Knickerbocker, Patricia S. Smith, Charles B. Henrici, Harvey R. Speiden, Jerry
L. Norris, and Joseph Gardner III. Absent was: Charles J. Zettek and George C.
Coney. In attendance was Hilda Ingebrigtsen, assistant finance director and
David E. Spung.
OLD BUSINESS
George Knickerbocker reported on the three law cases affecting Section 4-114.2,
REDUCTION OF DISABILITY AND SURVIVOR'S BENEFITS FOR CORRESPONDING BENEFITS
PAYABLE UNDER WORKER'S COMPENSATION AND WORKER'S OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES ACTS.
Rolling Meadows (lost) ,Duage Co. (won) , and Des Plaines (won) . A discussion
followed: Suggestion by G1 Knickerbocker to speak with D. Spung's attorney,
attempt to involve the Ill. Dept. of Insurance, •and file in Circut Court for
a Declaratory Judgement. Motion by H. Speiden, seconded by C. Henrici to
continue as present : Offsetting D. Spung' s Disability Pension by the amount
given him by Workmen's Compensation and file in Circut Court for a Declaratory
Judgement. Letting the Court decide the matter.

G. Knickerbocker volunteered to contact D. Spung's attorney and the Ill. Dept.

MINUTES
Motion by P. Smith, seconded by J. Norris to accept the February 1 and 24, 1988
as written and dispence with their reading. Motion passed unanimously.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Assistant finance director submitted a Balance Sheet and Schedule of Investments
of the Pension Fund as of April 29, 1988. Also attached was a Disbursement
Register. Motion by J. Gardner III, seconded by J. Norris to accept the Report
and place it on file with the Pension Minutes. Motion passed unanimously.

CANVAS OF BALLOTS OF ELECTION
Canvas of Ballots of April 18, 1988 election was taken:

Motion by C. Henrici, seconded by H. Speiden to certify the April 18, 1988
election, Walter Kriesant the winner. Term of office 3 years expiring April 1991.
Motion passed unanimously.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF BILLS OR DISBURSEMENTS
Motion by C. Henrici, seconded by P. Smith to pay D. McCullas examintion fee
for his yearly physical upon receipt of the Report from the doctor. Motion
passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Motion by W. Kriesant, seconded by C. Henrici to nominate:
Harvey R. Speiden President
Jerry L. Norris Vice President
Joseph Gardner III Secretary
Motion passed unanimously. The Secretary was instructed to cast one unanimous
ballot for the above offices. Therefore the above officers are declared elected.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by W. Kriesant, seconded by H. Speiden to adjourn. Motion passed unani-
mously. Meeting adjourned at 9:12 A.M.
