Peterson, Elk Grove Journal SCHOOL ZONE TRAFFIC SAFETY Traffic Sergeant Kirkpatrick and the Director of Engineering & Community Development made a presentation on the village's efforts to facilitate school zone traffic around Link School. It was explained that any additional ideas examined to resolve one concern create additional safety concerns elsewhere. Upon discussion, the consensus of the Committee was to not pursue any further discussions regarding Link School as recommended by Staff. School District 54 is responsible for any future improvements or modifications on their school property. SALT CREEK GRRENWAY TRAIL The consensus of the Committee was to apply for Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funds for the construction of the bicycle path. If received, use of the funds will be determined pending the consultant review and recommendation after completion of the Phase I and Phase II engineering studies. PRIVATE PARTTrTPAT_TON CONCRETE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM The consensus of the Committee was to not increase the fees charged to participants of the Private Participation Concrete Program. VILLAGE CUBS GAMF. OUTING The consensus of the Committee was to not pursue an "Elk Grove Village Day" outing at Wrigley Field. LIONS CLUB FIREWORKS DONATION The consensus of the Committee was to approve a $6, 000. 00 donation to the Lions Club for July 4th fireworks display. This request will be approved under New Business at the May 14, 1996 . Village Board meeting. REVOLVING LQAU PRO AM The consensus of the Committee was to refer this issue to the Industrial Revitalization Committee for further review. 40TH ANNIVERSARY RECOMMENDATTON The consensus of the Committee was to choose the float design supplied by Associated Attractions, Inc. , as recommended . by staff. In addition, the Committee also approved the following recommendations of the 40th Anniversary Committee: • to purchase a.plaque honoring residents who have lived in the Village for 40 years which will be placed on the north wall of the atrium facing the entrance to the Council Chambers; • to increase the Village-wide celebration budget by $500 for the purchase of the plaque; • to contract with a magician for the children 's birthday party in the amount of $125; and • to purchase 100 T-shirts for 40th Anniversary Committee members, and Parade Committee members, and parade volunteers to identify them as volunteers on the day of the parade. c: President & Board of Trustees Village Manager Assistant Village Manager Administrative Assistant Village Clerk Village Attorney Department Heads
