Womer, Chicago Tribune BOSTON wAP7PT REZONING VARIATION REQUEST The Chairman of the JPZ Committee provided a report to the Committee on their recommendations. The petitioners made a presentation on the proposed building site plan. The consensus of the Committee was to approve the parking and stacking variations as recommended by the JPZ Committee and to discuss the additional items following the Village Board meeting. The meeting recessed at 8:00 p.m. , and reconvened at 8:45 p.m. After further discussion, the consensus of the Committee was as follows: • to approve the use of 3 1/2" diameter trees on the proposed site; • the use of brick on the east, west, and south walls, and brick-colored scored, split face block on the north (rear) wall; • the revision of the building plans to have brick wall continue to the top of the canopy on Einstein Brothers Bagels; • the use of a darker gold color on the dryvit of Einstein Brothers Bagels instead of the proposed yellow; The petitioners are to submit revised elevation plans to the Village by June 21, 1996. Staff will send a follow-up letter to the petitioners indicating the consensus of the Board. The Village Attorney will prepare the necessary ordinances for Village Board action. SEARS SIGN VARIATION REOUEST The Chairman of the JPZ Committee reported no objection to the Sears Hardware monument sign as proposed. The consensus of the Committee was the following: • to have the shopping center property owner coordinate the signage use of each mall tenant and ensure that his leases prohibit the use of street frontage signs; • to postpone final approval of the Sears sign request pending an agreement between the Boston Market, Sears, and the shopping center owner on a proposed combined use of the monument sign if needed. MEACHAM/NERGE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS The consensus of- the Committee was to not require Hamilton Partners to install a right-hand turn lane on southbound Meacham Road at Nerge Road. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS The Director of Public Works provided the Committee with an update of the Village's EPA compliance efforts regarding the underground fuel storage tanks at the Landmeier Road Public Works facility. GROVE A R DEVF •O M NT SIGNAGE The consensus of the Committee was to approve the signage as recommended with minor changes in the sign's wording. TATTOO PARLORS The Board of Health provided the Committee with a report on their concerns about the operation of tattoo parlors in the Village. The consensus of the Committee was to not approve the petition to operate a tattoo parlor and to prohibit tattoo parlors as a use in Elk Grove Village. TEMPORARY PARKING AT FOUNTAIN SQUARE PARK The consensus of the Committee was the following: • to not permit parking in front of schools or parks; • to request that staff contact the Park District and suggest the temporary use of the Super Kmart parking lot and the provision of shuttle bus service between the lot and the park. CHILD SEX OFFENDER NOTIFY ATTON The consensus of the Committee was to have staff publish a newsletter article informing residents that the Police Department has information about child sex offenders in the Village available to the public. SALES TAX REBATE REQUEST The consensus of the Committee was to deny a request for a sales tax rebate made by the purchaser of Schmerler Ford. c: President & Board of Trustees Village Manager Assistant Village Manager Administrative Assistant Village Clerk Village Attorney Department Heads
