Preib, ELK GROVE TIMES Kelly Womer, CHICAGO TRIBUNE - EINSTEIN BAGELR R .VTq .D RTGNAGE REQUEST The consensus of the Committee was to approve Einstein Bagels' revised signage request as submitted. BOSTON MARKET AWNING REVIEW The Committee held considerable discussion regarding the awning material and intensity of the back-lit lighting being proposed by Boston Market. Discussion ensued regarding the Boston Market franchises in Gurnee and Waukegan. Boston Market's representatives stated that the proposed awning in Elk Grove was identical to the Gurnee and Waukegan franchises. Further discussion ensued regarding Boston Market's ability to reduce the lighting in the awning if the Village finds it to be objectionable. Upon discussion, the consensus of the Committee was as follows: • to tentatively approve the proposed signage subject to the confirmation of the awning and lighting materials at the Gurnee and Waukegan stores; • to authorize the issuance of sign permits for Boston Market at their risk with the understanding that the sign must be removed or lighting reduced if the proposed materials differ from the Waukegan and/or Gurnee stores; and • to have staff investigate the Gurnee and Waukegan awning material and report back to the Village Board TEEN YOUTH ACTIVITTESICOFFEE HOURP _ The Elk Grove High School Youth In Government students submitted survey results indicating the support of local students desirous of having a coffee shop/teen center in the Grove Mall. Upon discussion, the consensus of the Committee was as follows: • to use the survey results in consideration of redeveloping the Grove Mall property; and • to forward the survey results to the Intergovernmental Youth Council for their future use in planning teen activities. ELK GROVE HIGH SCHOOL R n rN- CENTER The consensus of the Committee was to have Village staff coordinate conversation between the Elk Grove Park District and the Elk Grove High School Reading Center Coordinator in an effort to obtain reading tutors from the Elk Grove Senior Center. ANTENNA SITING POLICY Brief discussion took place regarding the Plan Commission recommended changes to the antenna siting policy. It was the consensus of the Committee to continue discussion during the Village Board meeting and Committee of the Whole if necessary.
