GROVE MALL REDEVELOPMENT
The Village Attorney, Special Counsel, and Village Manager brought
the Board up-to-date on the Joint Review Board meeting, TIF issues; and
discussions with developers for the redevelopment of the Grove Mall
property. In addition, the Committee discussed the Southland
Corporation's request for building permits to remodel the Citgo gas
station. Upon discussion, the consensus of the Committee was as
follows:
• to have the negotiating committee to continue meeting with the two
potential developers of the Grove Mall;
• to direct the Village Attorney to negotiate an agreement with the
Southland Corporation for the redevelopment of the Citgo station
in a manner consistent with the redeveloped Grove Mall; and
• to deny all building permits for the Citgo station until an
agreement with the Southland Corporation is approved.
IDOT A REEM NT FOR ELK GROVE BIKEWAY
The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• to continue with the project as proposed, except that the
Biesterfield Road portion of the internal bikeway will be removed
from the project; and
• to postpone any decision on the construction of the Biesterfield
Road portion of the project until the future impact of the Grove
Mall redevelopment is determined.
