Womer, CHICAGO TRIBUNE 1995 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM The chairman of the Capital Improvements Committee brought the Board up-to-date on the recommended program. The consensus of the Committee was to approve the 1995 Street Maintenance Program, including the Devon Avenue sidewalk construction, as recommended by the Capital Improvements Committee. This appears on the January 24, 1995 Village Board consent agenda . 1995 NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES CONFERENCE Trustee Rettberg indicated he would like to attend the 1995 NLC Conference in Washington, D.C. , from March I1-14 . WAIVER OF GOVERNMENTAL LICENSE FEES The consensus of the Committee was to defer discussion on this item to a later date. - 2 - UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS The consensus of the Committee was to agree with Director of Public Works recommendation to purchase natural gas generators for several residential pumping stations, to comply with UST regulations. PARK DISTRICT REQUEST FOR MASSAGE THERAPIST The Village Attorney reviewed the Village Board 's options for regulating message therapy provided by the Park District . Upon further discussion, the consensus of the Committee was to have the Village Attorney draft an amendment to the existing ordinance which would exempt the Park District from massage therapy regulation. TRUCKS ON LANDMEIER ROAD The consensus of the Committee was to have the Village Attorney look into the matter and provide a recommendation for the Village Board. SWANCC BRIEFING No Village Board members expressed an interest in attending the SWANCC briefing session on January 31 . VILLAGE SMOKING POLICY The consensus of the Committee was to defer discussion on this item to a later date. BIESTERFIELD/WISE/MICHIGAN TRAFFIC STUDY The consensus of the Committee was to pursue the placement of a traffic signal in conjunction with a right-hand deceleration turn lane at the northeast corner of the Biesterfield/Wise/Michigan intersection. APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the Village President 's appointments of Susan Baker to the Board of Health and Marianne Coffman to the Zoning Board of Appeals. The appointment will take place at the January 24, 1995 Village Board meeting. 3 - 40th ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE Trustee Czarnik brought the village Board up to date on the activity of the 40th Anniversary Celebration Committee. Trustee Czarnik stated that the celebration will employ a "Ruby and Peony" theme. In addition, Trustee Czarnik requested the Committee 's approval to host a contest for designing a 40th Anniversary logo/vehicle sticker. The contest would have three categorical winners; grades 6-12, over 18 years of age, and overall winner, with the overall winner 's design being used for the logo/vehicle sticker design. The consensus of the Committee was to approve the contest and have it advertised in the Village newsletter. CRITERIA FOR VILLAGE PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL DRAINAGE PROJECTS The consensus of the committee was to defer discussion on this item to a later date.
