Womer, CHICAGO TRIBUNE PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY ORDINANCE The consensus of the Committee was to have the Village Attorney review the draft parental responsibility language and provide an opinion as to the difference between parental knowledge versus a parent having a reasonable basis to believe. In addition, the JPZ Committee recommendation is to be prepared in draft ordinance form for consideration by the Village Board. BUSINESS LIAISON COUNCIL FOCUS GROUPS The Economic Development Officer reviewed the information of her April 24, 1995 memo. Each department head summarized the findings of their focus group. Upon further discussion, the consensus of the Committee on each of the focus group recommendations was as follows: Beautification -- to have all recommendations of the focus group placed under the Industrial/Commercial Revitalization Program. - 2 - Communication -- to publicize the availability of communication cards in the Business Matters newsletter; -- to address Communication Cards to company presidents the next time they are sent out; -- to let the Village President consider if he wishes to hold a "Coffee with the President" for the business community; -- to address the issue of customer service through employee training programs; and, -- to revamp the mailing address label on the Business Matters Newsletter so that it is recognized as an official publication of the village. Engineering & Community Development -- to provide recommended information packets which would explain what an applicant could expect when applying for a permit; and -- to forward Zoning Permit and Prior Compliance Certificate information to multi-tenant landlords and leasing agents to assist prospective tenants; Finance -- to invite other taxing districts to the next Business Liaison Council Meeting to discuss their services & tax levy impact upon business; -- to publicize the 6B tax abatement and IRB financing in the Business Matters newsletter; -- to consider Village sponsored financing for rehab programs under the Industrial/Commercial Revitalization Program; and -- to publish information in Business Matters newsletter on charges and fees assessed by other communities which are higher than or not charged by Elk Grove. Police -- to have the Police Department look at alternative options to the 2-hour parking limit in the Industrial Park; -- to inform companies of their ability to receive waivers on parking restrictions for special functions; and -- to publish a special edition of the Business Matters newsletter devoted to Police/Fire services provided to the business community. 3 - Public Works -- all recommendations of the focus group have been addressed in the negotiations of the 1995-1996 snow plowing contract. The consensus of the Committee was to tentatively schedule the next Business Liaison Committee meeting for November 15, 1995. ROSEMONT CASINO PROPOSAL The consensus of the Committee was to not approve the agreement to share gambling revenue from the proposed Rosemont Casino. GENERAL FUND PROJECTIONS The consensus of the Committee was to have the Director of Finance make a presentation on the General Fund Projections at the September 26, 1995 Committee of the Whole meeting.
