POLICE CANINE UNIT
The consensus of the Committee was to approve the
implementation of the canine unit. The recommendation to award a
contract to Johne Liche, Denver, Indiana, to supply and train a
dog in the amount of $6,500 will be a new business item at the
Village Board meeting immediately following the Committee of the
Whole meeting.
WENDY'S - EXEL REZONING TO B-3
The Village Manager and Village Attorney expressed concerns
about the proposed rezoning and the uses located on the
neighboring properties. Specific concerns included the various
B-3 type uses that were allowed on B-2 zoned property under an
annexation agreement.
The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
-- to remand the rezoning petition back to the Plan
Commission; and
-- to have the JPZ Committee act as a co-petitioner with
the property owner(s) to clear up the zoning ambiguities
with the Plan Commission; and

-- to have Staff in conjunction with the Village Attorney
draft a letter advising the property owners of the
Village 's concerns.
MICROCOMPUTER PURCHASE
The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the
recommendation of the Information Systems Committee to purchase
15 Pentium computers instead of the 486DX computers.
INTERNET HOME PAGE
The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the
recommendations of the Information Systems Committee to allow
staff to make cosmetic changes to the Internet Home Page as
needed without Village Board approval .
HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT HOURS
Trustee Johnson inquired into extending the hours of
Halloween Trick-or-Treating from 7 p.m to 8 p.m. it was noted
that there was not enough time to change the hours this year due
to local advertisment of the 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. time frame. It was
the consensus of the Committee to review the Trick-or-Treating
hours prior to next Halloween.
PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY ORDINANCE
The consensus of the Committee was to place all parental
responsibility items, including curfew, neglect, and sale of
alcohol , under the proposed parental responsibility ordinance.
JPZ MEETING
Trustee Rettberg stated that the JPZ Committee will meet on
December 5, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. to address the issues of outdoor
BBQ grills at multi-family dwellings and horse stabling.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Trustee Rettberg motioned and Trustee Johnson seconded a
motion to enter executive session to discuss personnel . Upon
voting, the motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m.
