SPRING NEWSLETTER
The consensus of the Committee was to approve the mass
mailing of the Spring Newsletter subject to the exclusion of the
recycling article and the inclusion of the Intergovernmental
youth dances and senior citizen subcommittee article.
SALT CREEK BIKEWAY - PARK DISTRICT PROPOSAL
The consensus of the Committee was the following:
-- Let Cook County take the lead in funding and planning
for the Salt Creek bikeway; and
-- Have the Bicycle Commission provide input to the
Village Board on the design of the Salt Creek bikeway;
and
-- Provide Village input to Cook County on the design of
the Salt Creek bikeway.
JOURNAL & TOPICS ADVERTISEMENT
The consensus of the Committee was to not advertise in the
Journal and Topics newspaper.
RESOURCE CENTER FOR THE ELDERLY FUNDING REQUEST
The consensus of the Committee was to not donate funds to the
Resource Center 's Serve Our Seniors program.
CHARLES J. ZETTEK MUNICIPAL BUILDING SIGNAGE
Further discussion occurred on the placement of additional
signage on the municipal building, however, no consensus was
reached.
FIREARMS RESOLUTION
The consensus of the Committee was to not adopt a resolution
that urges stricter criminal penalties and stronger firearms
licensing requirements.
BICYCLE COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION
The consensus of the Committee was as follows:
-- Have the Bicycle Commission reconsider the following
details of the route:
-- a crossing at Shelley instead of Brantwood at
Arlington Heights Road
-- a singular crossing at Crest instead of Holly and
Crest at Landmeier
-- the extension of the bike route along Chelmsford
-- Have the Police Department review the bike route and
Salt Creek bikeway route;
-- Have Staff update the Bicycle Commission on the
regional meetings for a bikeway network.
DRAFT RESPONSE - HANDICAP SIGNAGE/FOOD & BEVERAGE TAX
COLLECTION
The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the items
stated in the draft response dated February 15, 1994 in regards
to handicap signage and food and beverage tax collection.
PARKWAY TREE GRANT
The consensus of the Committee was to use grant funds to
plant trees on Tonne Road and Biesterfield Road, including the
area in front of the Municipal Complex.
SCAVENGER FRANCHISE RENEWAL
The consensus of the Committee was to place this item in the
Recycling Committee. The Recycling Committee will meet to
discuss this item on Friday, March 11 at 10 a .m.
SPRUCE MEADOW SUBDIVISION
The consensus of the Committee was to discuss this item at a
future Committee of the Whole Meeting.
KENNEDY BOULEVARD - REMOVAL OF POZZOLANIC BASE
The consensus of the Committee was to remove the pozzolanic
base on Kennedy Boulevard from Arlington Heights Road to
Brantwood.
ADA CURB CUTS
The consensus of the Committee was to provide for ADA curb
cuts at the locations recommended by the Public Works Director in
an amount of $28,000.
