Russis, Chicago Tribune K. Bertram, Elk Grove Journal (7:30 p.m. ) JUNE NEWSLETTER The consensus of the Committee was to have the newsletter printed with the following changes: -- Add suggested uses to the Mugs and Caps Article; -- Provide a partial listing of retail outlet stores; -- Screen the 9-1-1 article and use bold print for 9-1-1; and -- Add an article to future newsletters listing all new companies in the Village. DIRECTORS AND ALTERNATE DIRECTORS - NWMC SWANCC The consensus of the Committee was the following: -- Place an ordinance on the next agenda designating Dennis J. Gallitano as Director and Craig B. Johnson and Gary E. Parrin as Alternate Directors of SWANCC; and -- Have staff notify the NWMC informing them that Dennis J. Gallitano is designated as Director and Paul A. Rettberg and Gary E. Parrin as Alternate Directors. BOARD AND COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS The consensus of the Committee was to concur with the Board and Commission appointments recommended by the Village President . WHERE ELSE LOUNGE The Village President informed the Committee that he was contacted by the owner of the Where Else Lounge to have their liquor license case reconsidered by the Board. The letter making the request will be sent to all Board members for discussion at a future committee meeting. AUTOMATIC AID AGREEMENT - ELK GROVE AND SCHAUMBURG The consensus of the Committee was to have staff prepare a letter to the Village of Schaumburg requesting their time frame for building a fifth fire station. PRIVATE PARTICIPATION CONCRETE REPAIR PROGRAM - MASS MAILING The consensus of the Committee was to approve the mass mailing with a caveat added indicating that the work is not warranted by the Village or the Contractor. VILLAGE INSURANCE PREMIUMS The consensus of the Committee was for staff to prepare a report regarding the rate increases for Village Comprehensive liability insurance premiums and self-insurance plan for workman 's compensation. Staff is to report this information back to the Village Board with reviews by Trustee Czarnik and Trustee Johnson. COFFEE WITH THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT The Village President informed the Committee that he will be holding informal meetings that are open to the public on one Saturday, every other month. Dates are scheduled for July 17, September 18, and November 20. This information will be placed in the June newsletter. CHANNEL 6 "ELK GROVE EXCHANGE" The consensus of the Committee was to participate in the Channel 6 "Exchange" program with all 'Trustees as panel members. Staff is to prepare a letter to the Park District informing them of the Board's decision and . to ensure that the program location is open and accessible to the public as required by the Open Meetings Act. TELEVISING BOARD MEETINGS The consensus of the Committee was for Channel 6 to televise all Board meetings beginning with the July 13 meeting. SBL ASSOCIATES LAWSUIT The Village Attorney reported that the Village won the appeal filed by SBL Associates against the Village.
