Karuhn, Chicago Tribune RED RIBBON CAMPAIGN The consensus of the Committee was to participate in the Red Ribbon Week campaign from October 23 - 31 , as outlined in the September 22, 1993 memo from the Assistant Village Manager. In addition, Village employees will have the option to attend sessions to hear public speakers discuss drug awareness issues during that week. BOARDWALK STREET DEDICATION The Village Manager advised the Board that Boardwalk is examining a special service area to bring their street up to Village standards. The Village Board will examine their request upon receipt of a proposal requesting the same from Boardwalk Condominiums. PESTICIDE LAWSUIT The consensus of the Committee was to fund the lawsuit in an amount not to exceed $1,000. If seven (7) or more communities decide to participate, the contribution will be less on a prorated basis. CASH AND INVESTMENT ITEM The consensus of the Committee was to discuss this item at a future date. COMMUNITY SERVICE BOARD APPOINTMENT The consensus of the Committee was to place this item under New Business on the October 12 committee of the Whole Agenda . HIGGINS ROAD PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS The Village Manager reported that the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission is recommending to the Federal government to allocate enhancement funds to the Village to finance the pedestrian overpass. BICYCLE COMMISSION The village President reported that the Village and the park District will be conducting a joint meeting to discuss the formation of a Bicycle Commission. WALNUT LANE CUT THROUGH TRAFFIC The consensus of the Committee was to have staff contact Cook County to extend the timing of traffic lights on Devon at Ridge and at Tonne to favor east/west traffic on Devon. BIESTERFIELD ROAD IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE III The consensus of the Committee was to defer a decision on Consent Item I of the 9/28/93 Village Board agenda until the 10112193 Village Board meeting. EXECUTIVE SESSION Trustee Johnson moved and Trustee Czarnik seconded the motion to enter into Executive Session to discuss matters of litigation and personnel . Upon voting, all AYES.
