Drainage Improvement Projects
Following a brief discussion regarding the condition of drainage at 159 Willow and 792
Brantwood, it was the consensus of the Committee to include these properties in the Village's
Drainage Improvements Program for summer 2004.
Northwest Municipal Conference Golf Outing
Following a brief discussion, the consensus of the Committee was that no representatives from
the Village would be attending the Northwest Municipal Conference Golf Outing.
Water Meter Study
Following a lengthy discussion, the consensus of the Committee was as follows:
• Begin a public awareness campaign with information being placed in upcoming newsletters
and on the Village website and have an informational brochure mailed to all residents;
• Charge a fee of$2.54 per 1,000 gallons of unmetered water or$500, whichever is lower;
• Conduct a professional rate study on the need to change out the old water meters; and
• Have staff gather information on the water meter change out programs currently taking place
in Arlington Heights and Schaumburg.
Outdoor Fireplaces
Following a brief discussion regarding the usage of outdoor fireplaces, the consensus of the
Committee was to allow outdoor open fireplaces and adopt new outdoor fireplace guidelines.
Village Tree Planting
Following a presentation from the Mayor and lengthy discussion by the Committee, the
consensus was to proceed with the planting of larger trees with two-year warranties to be funded
by the Recycling Fund.
Parking Regulations
The Chairman of the JPZ, Trustee Dill, asked members of the JPZ Committee to amend his
original proposal and have restrictions against commercial vehicles removed. Following a 2-1
vote, the amendment was passed.
The Committee then discussed in great detail the proposal from the JPZ Committee regarding the
parking of boats, trailers and recreational vehicles in front yard driveways. The consensus of the
Committee was to not vote on this matter until the Village Board meeting.
Executive Session
At 7:35 p.m., Trustee Czamik moved to enter into Executive Session to discuss Land
Acquisition, Litigation and Personnel. Trustee Petri seconded the motion. Upon voting, the
motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
