GREATER WOODFIELD CONVENTION AND VISITOR'S BUREAU
Tom Rivera, Ed Forester and Frank Waltron were present to
discuss purposes and plans of the Greater Woodfield Convention and
Visitor's Bureau. They noted that membership has tripled since
October 1, 1984 and that the State of Illinois is matching all
funds contributed for membership dues.
The goal of the Bureau is to bring additional money into the
Greater Woodfield area through tourism and conventions. A video
presentation made by the Bureau in 1983 was shown. It is currently
being updated.
Ed Forester stated that the Bureau could help Elk Grove
Village by 1) building the corporate image; 2) giving nationwide
recognition to the area; and 3) selling the entire area by showing
the amenities available. He also indicated that the Bureau wants
to develop the peripheral things that would make business look to
the area.
TAXICAB SERVICE
Trustee Uhlarik said that many Senior residents complain
about poor taxicab service in the Village. President Zettek sug-
gested that poor service be documented, perhaps by Ruth Guest.
ELK GROVE DIGEST
Several Trustees mentioned that the cable broadcasts of the
Elk Grove Digest were poor in quality.
