Zettek, Village President Michael Tosto, Village Trustee Edward Hauser, Village Trustee Ronald Chernick, Village Trustee Joseph Bosslet, Village Trustee James Petri, Village Trustee Dennis Gallitano, Village Trustee STAFF PRESENT: Gary E. Parrin, Assistant Village Manager George C. Coney, Director of Finance Hilda Ingebrigtsen, Asst. Director of Finance SCHOLARSHIP Bosslet and Gallitano will serve on a committee to select outgoing high school seniors as recipients for scholarships. The first committee meeting will be May 30 , 1985 at Grove Junior High School. LAKE MICHIGAN WATER The June 21 date for receipt of Lake Michigan water has been pushed back to July 21. This is not general information for the public. BIESTERFIELD ROAD Staff was requested to have the speed limit on Biesterfield Road, between Arlington Heights Road and Rohlwing Road, increased from 35 MPH to 40 MPH. BURGER KING The Capital Improvements Committee will review the ingress/egress from the Burger King Restaurant onto Arlington Heights Road. The matter will be placed on the Committee ' s Agenda. SUMP PUMPS Staff was requested to provide a report on (a) the status of the sump pump disconnection program that began several years ago; and (b) to develop a program to revital- ize our efforts to obtain compliance, as well as an ongoing effort to make sure that previous sump pump disconnections have not been reconnected and homes not in the RJN survey be checked for ordinance compliance. . . . . . . . . cont 'd -2- ACM CONTRACT Concern was expressed on both the price of the contract and the productivity associated with various work efforts. There is an extraordinary amount of time committed to certain projects . Coney responded to those concerns and noted that over the next several years the level of service under the contract will be decreasing as departmental projects are completed. Consensus is to consider the contract at the 5-28-85 VB meeting. The ACM contract is listed under Unfinished Business on the Agenda. EXPO FAIR The Fair will be at the Elk Grove Holiday Inn on Thursday, May 23 . Ian Gray and Nancy Carlson will have a Village booth. Board members are invited to visit the booth between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. JAWA A tour of the main pumping facility for JAWA will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 23 . BIESTERFIELD INTERCHANGE ABMC has not indicated whether it will commit funds for the interchange improvement. Elk Grove, Schaumburg, and ABMC will be meeting with IDOT and our State represen- tatives and senators to discuss the State funding proposal. The meeting would occur after the end of the current General Assembly Session. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD INTERCHANGE Elk Grove and Arlington Heiqhts have established an Ad Hoc Committee and retained Zimmer/Howell Engineering to do consulting work. The consultant will develop a strategy for supporting a full interchange. Tosto leaves ( 8 : 15 p.m. ) OLGA SEDA INQUIRY The Village President has not received a response to his letter to Olga Seda. He will advise her that the Village will meet with the Township or Park District if a meeting is scheduled to discuss the flood plain preservation proposal. . . . . .cont 'd -3- Rohlwing/Biesterfield Intersection Staff is to request IDOT to move up the installation of stop signs at the intersection prior to the opening of Biesterfield to Meacham under the FAUS program. The intersection is extremely dangerous, traffic backs up on Biesterfield, accidents have occurred at the intersection, and the volume of traffic requires further traffic measures . In addition, staff is to request IDOT to signal- ize the intersection at such time that the FAUS project is completed with Biesterfield extended to Meacham. The intersection needs adequate traffic control prior to the extension of Rohlwing to Martingale.
