Salaries/Wages
Charles Willis distributed salary/wage information to Members
which included performance evaluation comparisons and comparison of
wages and similar positions in other communities. Consensus was to
make a 'raise'decision later and make it retroactive to May 1 , 1986.
The meeting recessed at 8 p.m. for the Village Board meeting
and reconvened at 9:23 p.m. George Knickerbocker attended this part
of the meeting; George Coney did not.
GROVE MALL PARKING LOT
Members discussed the deteriorated condition of the Grove
Mall parking lot. The Village Attorney stated that the Village has
two non-passive options:
1 ) Give advance notice to the owner that the Village
considers it a public safety hazard to business
invitees and emergency equipment and will therefore
barricade the entrances to the parking if new standards
(passed by ordinance) are not met in a given amount of
time; or
2) The parking lot conditions could immediately be declared
an emergency and be closed.
Consensus was to have the Village Attorney discuss the matter and
possible consequences with the shopping center manager' s attorney.
SIDEWALKS AT MEAD SCHOOL
The Village Manager stated that in two letters the Village has
asked School District 54 officials to install sidewalk at Margaret Mead
School . He was directed to discuss the matter personally with School
District 54 and acquire a resolution to the problem.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:01 p.m.
