HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE - 10/28/1986 - ZBA VACANCY/BD OF HEALTH APT/BIESTERFIELD RD INTERCHANGE/GROVE SHOPPING CTR Minutes Committee of the Whole October 28, 1986 PRESENT: Charles Zettek, village President Edward Hauser, Village Trustee James Petri, Village Trustee Michael Tosto, Village Trustee Joseph Bosslet, Village Trustee Dennis Gallitano, Village Trustee STAFF PRESENT: Charles Willis, Village Manager Gary Perrin, Assistant Village Manager Robin Weaver, Administrative Assistant Fred Engelbrecht, Chief of Police Alan Boffice, Village Engineer John Coakley, Administrative Intern ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS VACANCY President Zettek advised the Village Board that he would like their concurrence to appoint Tony Inzerello to fill the existing vacancy on the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Board concurred and the appointment will be made at the Board meeting. BOARD OF BEALTN APPOINTMNT President Zettek asked members to consider adding one member to the Board of Health and to name David Dopp to that position at the Village Board meeting. The Board concurred. ARBA-VIDE CCNVBN27CW CERTER !!SETING Trustees Bosslet, Petri, Tosto, President Zettek and Gary Parrin all indicated that they would be attending the October 30 convention center meeting. BIESTERPISLD ROAD INTERCBANGS A revised sketch from IDOT was received and posted in the Trustees' Conference Room which illustrates the most recent IDOT plans for an interchange at I-290 and Biester- field Road. Members agreed it looked like a good design especially as ramps do not exit onto Rohlwing Road, nor impact the Parkview Heights Subdivision. 7:20 p.m. Trustee Chernick arrived 7:26 p.m. George Knickerbocker arrived GRINS SBOPPIRG CEN2" George Knickerbocker indicated that an individual wants to re-open the theatre at the Grove Shopping Center. Parking lot improvements will be made and the shared parking previously permitted by the Village is requested. Consensus was to continue permitting shared parking. TBRODGB TRAFFIC - NSSTGATS 6 STOC"RZDGS SDBDZVTSZOPS George Knickerbocker relayed the fact that due to the high number of cases resulting from the turn prohibition sign on Biesterfield Road at Gibson Drive, the Judge was losing patience and had reduced fines to twenty-five dollars. Of that, twenty-two dollars goes to the County. President Zettek noted that Schaumburg has challenged our right to issue tickets under local ordinance rather than under State jurisdiction. Conducting a poll was suggested by President Zettek.
