Tosto, Village Trustee STAFF PRESENT: C. Willis, Village Manager G. Parrin, Assistant Village Manager y R. Weaver, Administrative Assistant F. Engelbrecht, Chief of Police J. Bantner, Police Commander M. Mack, Police Commander J. Romme, Planning Officer, Police G. Coney, Director of Finance H. Ingebrigtsen, Asst. Director of Finance R. Olson, Personnel Officer BUILDING RBNOVATIOR The Police Department presented a number of proposed plans for renovation of the existing general office and other areas for future use by the Police Department and Community Service. Following discussion, the Board unanimously approved that plan identified as Scheme 2 at a projected cost of $517,528. At 8:20 p.m. this discussion ended and Police personnel (except Chief Engelbrecht) left the meeting. BUDGET Members discussed open budget items and consensus was to approve: 1) the Community Events sign with its placement on Municipal Complex property; 2) carriage walks - with an exact figure to be determined after review of a Public Works recommendation. Consensus was to reject the Police Department's request for youth "T" shirts and to reject the Public Works Department's request to eliminate uniforms. CAPITAL PROJNCTS POND The Village Manager noted several changes to the items listed for inclusion in the Capital Projects Fund budget. Consensus agreed to approve the Capital Projects Fund budget. Chief Engelbrecht left the meeting. ADDITIOEAL SALES TAX PAYMENT The Director of Finance reminded the members of the 'one time only' additional sales tax payment of approximately $500,000 which the Village has received. He recommended that those monies be utilized to purchase furniture for the municipal building addition and to pay for landscaping costs at the Municipal Complex. It was agreed that Staff should determine furniture purchases. CALARrES AND WAGES Members agreed to discuss salaries and wages at a Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, April 6, 1987, at 7 p.m. An estimated amount will be placed in the Budget so that the public hearing notice for April 14, 1987 can be published. George Coney and Hilda Ingebrigtsen left the meeting. BISSTSRPIRLD ROAD Members discussed the possibility of removing some or all recent signage, or adding additional signage, to the Biesterfield Road/Gibson Drive/Plum Grove Road area. No consensus was achieved. Members also discussed the possibility of extending Biesterfield Road through to Plum Grove Road and the possibility of an interchange at I-290 and Biesterfield Road.
