PLOAOD REPORT
The Village Manager gave a brief overview of the rainfall
(9.32 inches in 12 hours) which caused flooding in the Village,
and the area, and massive damage to the lower level of the Police
Department Headquarters and the new Municipal Complex addition.
Selected portions of a video tape of the flooding of the lower
levels were shown. Mr. Willis reported that debris was being
removed and that the lower level would be in a clean condition
by August 19.
At the request of the village Manager, Department Heads
summarized their flood-related activities since the August 14
disaster and through the weekend. Staff noted the full support
received from Village personnel, businesses and other agencies.
Mr. k2llis explained that emergency services and general
public services were provided despite the loss of power and
telephone service to the Municipal Complex. He noted that the
thirty-six hours it took for Commonwealth Edison to shut power
off to the Municipal Complex was excessive and that efforts were
being made to ensure prompt responses from Edison in the future.
8:50 p.m. All Staff except Charles Willis, Gary Parrin, Robin
Weaver and Norm Samelson left the meeting.
