MINUTES
October 20, 1987

FENCES IN SIDE YARDS
Members discussed various possible changes in the Zoning
Ordinance with respect to the requirements for placement of
fences on residential property. Various ways to change the
manner in which the Village reviews side yard variations for
fences were also examined.
Staff was directed to prepare exhibits of residential
lot configuration with setback lines and the currently permitted
placement of fence. Members of the Board will then analyze
each one and seek consensus on what fence placement could be
approved in the future. An amendment to the Zoning Ordinance
would than be prepared utilizing those final exhibits.
CONVENTION CENTER
Members agreed to meet with representatives of the Greater
Woodfield Convention and Visitors Bureau in November to discuss
financial support from Elk Grove Village for a convention center.
The meeting was adjourned to executive session at 8:53
p.m.
