EXTENSION OF SEWER SERVICE
President Zettek reported to the Members that the
IDOT/Martha Street residents' meeting Iast week went well
regarding possible extension of the Village sanitary sewer
line to homes which would lose their septic field due to land
acquisition actions by IDOT to construct the I-290/Biesterfield
Road Interchange. IDOT would pay all sewer line construction
costs.
AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT - NERGE ROAD
On Sunday, October 25, a vehicle, traveling in excess
of 55 M.P.H. , left Nerge Road near Anders Drive, hit railroad
ties, became airborne and caused damage to three residential
lots. A videotape of the accident scene was shown. The
Assistant village Manager explained that the area residents
want the Village to install a guardrail on Anders Drive because
the County refuses to do so on Nerge Road. It was the
recommendation of the Assistant Village Manager that a guardrail
on Anders Drive would be extremely dangerous to errant drivers
and could bring liability on the Village.
ELIC CROSSING SHOPPING CENTER
Trustee Gallitano related his displeasure at the location
of a large Commonwealth Edison vault so close to the intersection
(and public view) at the Elk Crossing Shopping Center.
Discussion of the location of the sidewalk along the right
turn lane of Biesterfield Road, adjacent to the Elk Crossing
Shoping Center, ended in a direction to Staff to review the
lane elevation, width of sidewalk and R-O-W to determine if
an alternate could be devised.
