NORTRWEST CENTRAL DISPATCH
The proposed new formula for calculating the communities'
share of costs for Northwest Central Dispatch (NWCD) was
discussed. The new formula is based on usage rather than
on the current basis of population and would translate into
an increase in costs to Elk Grove Village. Consensus was
reached to accept the new formula.
Tosto expressed that the Village should return to
dispatching its own calls. Trustee Hauser raised concerns
about future costs to remain in the NWCD system and whether
or not the services provided are of good quality. He stated
he was hesitant to commit the village for a long term period
by participating in the near future costs of re-locating the
facility and purchasing equipment. The Village Manager noted
that there will be several decision points until 1989 for
the Village to review its continued participation.
The meeting was adjourned to Executive Session at 7:45
