Willis, Village Manager Gary Parrin, Assistant Village Manager Robin Weaver, Administrative Assistant Hilda Ingebrigtsen, Assistant Dir. of Finance Patricia Kusek, Accounting Manager Charles Henrici , Fire Chief OTHERS PRESENT: Stanley Klyber, Greater O'Hare Association of C&I Dave McKinney, Daily Herald Reporter, Voice Newspaper Two Citizens Meacham Road President Zettek reported that the Cook County Board of Commissioners voted to deny the petitions to re-zone two properties located on Meacham Road. The Village had provided objections to the petition requests. Biesterfield/I-290 Interchange President Zettek stated that the Village is pursuing efforts to acquire the 33 acres of Cook County Forest Preserve property at the northeast corner of Rohlwing and Biesterfield Roads to provide for interchange ramps and a park. Additional Revenue Sources Highlights from the six month financial review submitted by the Finance Director were presented by President Zettek. Discussion followed by the members regarding current and projected revenues and expenditures. Members then discussed new sources of revenue such as a utility tax, real estate transfer tax, food and beverage tax, ambulance fees for non-residents and local sales tax. Also discussed were possible increases in property taxes , business licenses , and vehicle licenses. Mr. Stanley Klyber reported that 63,000 people are currently employed by the 2,900 firms in the Village 's industrial park. He stated that a utility tax could be detrimental to future growth in the park, whereas a sales tax hurts the buyers. Mr. Klyber further commented on other general facts regarding the industrial park. Members requested additional information regarding vehicle and business license fees, real estate sales for commercial and industrial property, and ambulance calls. Further discussion regarding revenue sources will resume on February 9, 1988 at 7 p.m. The meeting was adjourned to Executive Session at 9:00 p.m. c: President and Board of Trustees Village Manager Assistant Village Manager Administrative Assistant Village Attorney All Department Heads
