FUTURE FIRE STATION/REMODELING FOR PUBLIC WORKS
Members reviewed current plans to remodel the two (2) Public
Works Department buildings in light of the possibility of a future
additional fire station. A new fire station would allow the Public
Works Department to utilize the current Landmeier fire station. Space
needs, timetables and costs were reviewed. Consensus was to authorize
staff to go out for bids on the proposed Public Works remodeling.
At this time the Landmeier Station would not be relocated.
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM - POLICE DEPARTMENT
Trustee Tosto recommended, based on the Village Engineer's March
6, 1988 memorandum, that the Village eliminate the sanitary sewer
pumps in the Police garage and make modifications for a gravity based
system. Following discussion, consensus was for the Village Manager
to accept the proposal.
REAL ESTATE TRANSFER TAX
Following discussion, members agreed to a real estate transfer
tax of 3110 of one percent (or $3.00 for every $1,000 of sale) with
rebates on residential property for senior citizens and persons moving
within Elk Grove Village of 2110 of one percent (or $2.00 for every
$1,000 of sale).
