HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE - 04/12/1988 - COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MINUTES April 12, 1988 10:07 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Charles Zettek, Village President Michael Tosto, Village Trustee Edward Hauser, Village Trustee James Petri, Village Trustee Ronald Chernick, Village Trustee Joseph Bosslet, Village Trustee Dennis Gallitano, Village Trustee MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Charles Willis, Village Manager Gary Parrin, Assistant Village Manager Robin Weaver, Administrative Assistant Earle Kracht, Building Inspector Supervisor/Plan Reviewer Norm Samelson, Village Attorney's Office OTHERS PRESENT: Chuck Byrum, Leo Lenaghan PARKING REQUIREMENTS B-2 DISTRICT Chuck Byrum and Leo Lenaghan stated that they, as well as other owners of B-2 strip shopping centers, felt that the village's parking requirements were excessive. They also noted that as the requirements were based on actual uses, it was difficult to lease stores and difficult for the Village to enforce. They stated that they would commission a professional outside firm to conduct a study if the Village would consider the results. A consensus agreed that they would review such a report/study and were open minded on the subject. TRAFFIC SIGNALS Members agreed to pay for temporary signals at Arlington Heights Road and south Northwest Point Road. OPEN HOUSE Members agreed to have an open house of the municipal building for the general public. NORTHWEST TOLLWAY/ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD INTERCHANGE Members directed Staff to raise the issue of a median in Higgins Road as part of roadway improvements to help accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists who wish to cross the road.
