RECYCLING
Members reviewed and commented on the Recycling information
packet. Gallitano suggested several revisions to the educational
materials.
Nine vendors were located who sell recycling and/or industrial
containers. A sample of each bin was on display.
Plans are being made to distribute most of the bins to
residents on Saturday, November 5, 1988. Garden City will also
be available to help with the distribution.
Members discussed the need to strengthen the penalty provisions
of the proposed ordinance regulating the removal of the recyclable
materials.
Consensus was to purchase 14-gallon recycling bins through
Waste Management Co. , Oak Brook, Illinois, for a per-unit cost
of $4.91.
