ZONING BOARD OP APPEALS
Members discussed a request from the Chairman of the
Zoning Board of Appeals which would authorize the appointment
of an alternate to serve on the Zoning Board whenever a quorum
cannot be met.
Consensus was to keep the membership at seven and
appoint an alternate as requested.
ELK GROVE LIBRARY -
Members reviewed the cost estimate of $99,352 for
renovation of the Elk Grove Library, as submitted by the Library.
Consensus was to allow the Library Board to award
the contracts and proceed with the repairs/renovation which
shall include the following items which were not included in
the estimate:
1) Restoration of first floor exterior wall insulation
2) Removal of the abandoned HVAC system and electrical panels
in the basement
3) Replacement/installation of minimum number of lights in
the basement
4) Heat for the basement
5) Replacement of stairwell doors

Members discussed a driveway variation which was
presented and removed from the 10-11-88 VB Agenda and tabled
at the 10-25-88 VB meeting in order to gather additional
information and allow the petitioner to be present for
discussion.
The petitioner has requested a variation of the width
of the drive apron in order to be consistent with the driveway
widths which had already been constructed without proper permits.
Members directed Staff to determine whether the
petitioner was aware that a permit is required for construction
of a driveway, and the number of vehicles registered at the
address.
