HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE - 01/10/1989 - ZBA/SENIOR CITIZEN CONCERN REPORT/IMPEX SHRIMP AND FISH CO/821 DEBRA LN COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING January 10, 1989 Elk Grove Village MEMBERS PRESENT: Charles Zettek, Village President Michael Tosto, Village Trustee Edward Hauser, Village Trustee James Petri, Village Trustee Ronald Chernick, Village Trustee Joseph Bosslet, Village Trustee Dennis Gallitano, Village Trustee MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Charles Willis, Village Manager Gary Parrin, Assistant Village Manager Julie Carius, Administrative Assistant George Coney, Director of Finance Nancy Eike, Community Service Coordinator George Knickerbocker, Village Attorney (7:25) OTHERS PRESENT: Harriet Dalaskey,Chairman, Community Service Board Ruth Guest, Member, Community Service Board ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS Consensus was to concur with the village President's appointment of Theodore Staddler to serve as an alternate member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. SENIOR CITIZEN CONCERN REPORT Members of the Community Service Board reviewed the Senior Citizen Concern Report highlighting the complaints regarding senior citizen transportation, especially the subsidized taxicab service. Village Board members discussed the taxi cab complaints as well as the need for a bus system in Elk Grove village in addition to the Township Bus. Consensus was to direct the Community Service Board to record all taxicab complaints. The Village Board will continue to pursue the possibility of obtaining a PACE Bus. WISH ROAD/BIESTERFIHLD EXTENDED - SIGNAGE Consensus was to concur with the Police Chief's 12-21-88 report in reference to signage in the Stockbridge and Westgate Subdivisions, as well as the "bagging" of turn prohibition signs at Gibson/Biesterfield, and Plum Grove at Julie and University. IMPEX SHRIMP AND FISH COMPANY, INC. Staff reported that numerous discussions have been held with representatives of the company and that the matter is now under control. 821 DEBRA LANE Consensus was to authorize the variation which would permit the construction of a solid fence which would infringe 9 feet into the 10-ft. setback line.
