Upcoming Events
The Village President announced the following events:
1. Greater O'Hare Golf Outing: 8-16-89
2. Channel 6 Cable Committee Picnic: 7-6-89
3. Western Open: 6-29-89-7-2-89
4. Ground Breaking for Library: 7-2-89
Traffic Signalization
The Village President indicated that the technical consultant scheduled
to meet with the Board regarding traffic signalization along Biesterfield Road
will not be able to attend the meeting.
Members considered a recommendation from staff to expand the study area
from Tonne Road to Rohlwing Road. The original study area encompassed the
area between Arlington Heights Road and Beisner Road.
Consensus was to have the study include Biesterfield Road from Tonne to
Rohlwing Road.
Landmeier-Tonne Improvements
Members expressed concern over the need to look at improving Landmeier
Road at Tonne. Staff indicated that improvement plans at that location are
part of the county design. in addition, the corner of Landmeier and Tonne
will eventually be signalized.
Parking Along Leicester At Leisure Fitness Center
Members noted that residents are looking to the village to consider
installing "No Parking" signs on Leicester between Biesterfield and Yarmouth.

village Advertisement in Elk Grove High School Grenadier Activity Book
Consensus was to place a half-page ad in the activity book.
Martingale to Rohlwing Connection
Staff indicated that the Sate is engineering the connection of these
roadways.
Pending Issues Before the ZBA
Members reviewed two issues before the ZBA, both of which request a
variation in regard to the parking and storage of vehicles within the
25 ft. building set-back line (800 Nicholas Blvd, and 2121 Landmeier).
Members reviewed a report from the Village Manager objecting to the
proposed variation at 800 Nicholas.
Meeting with Park District
The Village Board is waiting for a reply from the Park District
regarding a Village Board request to meet with them to discuss several issues.
Liquor Licenses
The Village Manager noted that revised information has been distributed
to the Board regarding the closing hours of liquor establishments.
Circuit Court Fine Distribution
The Village Manager indicated that a Resolution will be in the 6-27-89
Village Board agenda which calls for a revision of the distribution of circuit
court fines.
IDOT Bike/Pedestrian Crossing at Higgins Road
Staff reviewed the outcome of a meeting with IDOT held on 6-20-89. At
the meeting, representatives of the Cook County Forest Preserve agreed to go
back to Forest Preserve officials and ask them to reconsider sharing the cost
and maintenance of the overpass facility.
Ingress and Egress at Elk Crossing
The Village Manager indicated that he has discussed the issue of a
cross-easement with the attorney representing the property owner.
Economic Development
The village Economic Development Consultants have suggested that the
"Exceptional Community" video be updated.
Consensus was to direct the consultants to look into updating the
video and come back to the Village Board with a proposal.

Northeast
3-Northeast Quadrant
The Village Manager explained that information has been compiled
by Staff regarding the Northeast quadrant. Proceeds from the tank farm
and trailer park would total approximately $60,000 per year. A detailed
report would be distributed to the Village Board in the 6-23-89 care
packages.
Statement of Commitment to Install Public Sidewalk
Members reviewed requests from Seko Air Freight (790 Busse Road) and
Portillo's Hot Dogs, Inc. (1500 Busse Road) for sidewalk deferments.
Consensus was to grant the requests.
Elk Sculpture
The village President recommended that the Village Board consider
contracting with a sculptor to provide the Village with a sculpture of an
Elk.
Consensus was to have the artist provide some visual renderings and
suggestions as to where the sculpture might be located on the grounds of
the Municipal Complex.
Salary Structures
Trustee Hauser, Chairman of the Personnel Committee, was directed
to gather information comparing benefits for management.
Village Picnic
The 1989 Village Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 20, 1989 at
4 p.m. at Pirate's Cove.
Sidewalk at Corner of Arlington Heights and Biesterfield Roads
The Village Engineer indicated that the sidewalk will be installed as
soon as Commonwealth Edison relocates the power box currently located at
that corner.
Improvements at Devon & Tonne
Staff indicated that improvements should be completed in 6-8 weeks.
