Parrin, Assistant Village Manager Julie Strahl, Administrative Assistant NWNC DIRECTORY The Village President indicated that he will route the directory to all Board members. BILL GRANS' FAREWELL DINNER Members were reminded that the dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m, at Bristol Court, 828 E. Rand Road, Mt. Prospect, IL. LIQUOR LICENSE FESS Members confirmed the assumption that the license fees will not be changed because of the change in hours. ELS SCULPTURE The Village President reported that a sculptor is preparing a rendering of an elk out of clay. The sculptor has suggested that the full size sculpture be placed in the open area between the addition and fire station. EXECUTIVE SESSION Consensus was to call an Executive Session at the 7-25-89 VB meeting to discuss a Personnel matter. CBS/WBBN TOWER RELOCATION The Village of Elk Grove has submitted a petition to deny construct- ion of the CBS/WBBM tower at the proposed location in Roselle. ANNEXATION OF MCDONALD'S (OAKTON S ROUTE 83) The Village has discovered that McDonald's has signed a delayed purchase contract on the property, therefore, they will not own the land until 1999. The Village will approach the current landowner to determine whether they wish to annex. ---please continue COW 7/18/89 -2- SENIOR TRANSPORTATION Several members attended a meeting with seniors and clergy to discuss transportation concerns of seniors. Members noted that staff has met with PACE to discuss the possibility of providing a dial-a-ride with a "soft route" to Village residents. Members expressed concern over getting seniors to Grantwood for the evening meal program. CAPITAL PROJECTS Staff indicated that members should review the capital projects list in light of the increased revenues which will be received from the State income tax increase. In two years the Village will need to justify all expenditures made with the additional income tax funds. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF SALT CREEK Area municipalities will soon be signing an agreement for the cleaning and maintenance of Salt Creek. Cleaning will begin shortly thereafter. The IDOT report on Busse Dam will soon be available. COMMUNICATION CARD RESPONSES Trustee Gallitano inquired about several responses to the communication cards: 1. Possible increased traffic on Wellington when new library opens; 2. Skateboards at local shopping centers; 3. Requirement for child restraints in cars. SYNCHRONIZATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALSII290 BIESTERFIELD INTERCHANGE Trustee Gallitano reviewed his correspondence with the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority. Staff was directed to pursue the issue further with IDOT. POT HOLES Trustee Chernick indicated that there is a large pot hole on Biesterfield Road in front of the entrance to Alexian Brothers. ASSESSED VALUATION OF PROPERTY (EAST OF ELMHURST AND HIGGINS ROAD) Members reviewed and discussed a report prepared by staff which provides a breakdown of the taxes the Village would receive from the subject property should it be annexed. ---please continue cow 7/18/89 -3- ASSESSED VALUATXCW OP PROPERTY (CONTINUED) (BAST OF ELHHVRST AND HIGGINS ROAD) Concerns were raised regarding the cost to provide service to the area. Consensus was to establish whether the Village would be interested in the land. At that point the Village would then Zook at the cost of servicing the area as well as meet with neighboring municipalities who may also be interested in the land. MARTINGALE EXTENSION Members expressed concern whether the Martingale extension will still be constructed in spite of Schaumburg losing their case with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. c: President & Board of Trustees Village Clerk Village Manager Assistant Village Manager Administrative Assistant All Department Heads as
