COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Members noted the following Committee meetings:
Recycling Committee: 8-24-89 at 7 p.m.
JPZ Committee: 8-31-89 at 7 p.m.
UTILIZATION OF ADDITIONAL STATE INCOME TAX FUNDS
Members noted several uses for the additional revenue.
Consensus was to call a Committee of the Whole meeting for
Tuesday, August 29 (fifth Tuesday) to discuss how the funds could be
used. Staff was directed to distribute copies of the current Capital
projects list.
CBS/WBBM TOWER
The Village President updated members on the WBBM tower issue.
COMMONWEALTH EDISON SUBSTATION
Members were advised that Commonwealth Edison has revised the
location of the proposed substation. The revised location would be
southeast of the intersection at Kent and Oakton streets as opposed to
southwest of Kent and Oakton which was directly in front of a portion
of Perrie Grove Apartments.
COMMONWEALTH EDISON POWER BOX AT BIESTERFIELD AND ARLINGTON HEIGHTS

Members inquired whether Commonwealth Edison had taken any steps
to relocate the power box. Staff indicated that no action had been
taken by Commonwealth Edison.
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL-COMPENSATION STUDY
Members reviewed and approved the RFP. Staff indicated that it
would be sent out by the end of the week.
UPDATE OF EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNITY VIDEO
Staff indicated that a recommendation is forthcoming from the
Economic Development Consultants.
POTENTIAL ANNEXATION EAST OF ELMHURST ROAD, SOUTH OF THE TOLLWAY
Members noted that Des Plaines is also interested in annexing the
property and that they will be serving the area (through a previous
agreement) when the Elk Grove Rural Fire Protection District dissolves
in spring of 1990. It was also noted that Mount Prospect is not
interested in the property.
