HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE - 08/22/1989 - COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING Elk Grove Village August 22, 1989 7 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Charles Zettek, Village President James Petri , Village Trustee Edward Hauser, Village Trustee Joseph Bosslet, Village Trustee Michael Tosto, Village Trustee Ronald Chernick, Village Trustee Dennis Gallitano, Village Trustee (7:15 p.m. ) MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Village Manager Assistant Village Manager Administrative Assistant Village Attorney (7:50 p.m. ) OTHERS PRESENT: Ian Gray, Nancy Carlson Economic Development Consultants UPDATE OF EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNITY VIDEO TAPE Economic Development Consultants Ian Gray and Nancy Carlson were present to answer questions regarding their rcommendations of whom to retain to update the video. Gray noted that all businesses considered were able to provide key elements needed in the update: 1 . Aerial shot of the industrial park; 2. Provide copies in several languages; 3. Use of a professional voice It was noted that should the Village hire anyone other than the original producers of the videotape a completely new video would have to be produced. Following review and discussion it was the consensus of the Board to have the Park District prepare a completely new video at no cost (other than extra copies and incidental costs) as offered by the Park District, contingent on the provision that Ian Gray and Nancy Carlson will produce and direct the taping. LEGAL FEES FOR CBS/WBBM TOWER RELOCATION Staff called attention to a supplemental agenda item asking members to increase the professional service fees from $15,000 to $20,000 for services being rendered by the law firm of Karaganis and White for the WBBM Tower relocation issue. EXECUTIVE SESSION Consensus was to call an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the Release/Retention of Executive Session minutes, as well as for litigation. HOLIDAY DECORATIONS CONTEST Members discussed the idea of implementing a Christmas decorating contest for single family detached homeowners. Consensus was to appoint a Committee of residents to judge and select the three (3) most outstanding decorated homes during the holidays. PACE ROUTE 416 Members noted that Route 416 will stop at Walgreens in the Grove Mall beginning 8-22-89. BIKE PATH/PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS AT HIGGINS ROAD Members indicated that the Forest Preserve District should be advised that the Village is opposed to any entrances to the Forest Preserve from Oakton Street. mw c: President and Board of Trustees Village Manager Assistant Village Manager Administrative Assistant Village Clerk Department Heads
