VARIATION REQUEST - 2121 Landmeier
Members reviewed a report from the Director of Engineering
and Community Development regarding the variation request from
Airport Distributors. Members noted that the petitioner has
indicated that he may not need the variation after all.
Members concurred that the issue should not be dismissed
due to the condition of the site as well as the number of
trucks being parked on site.
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS - CIRCLE BAY SUBDIVISION
The Assistant Village Manager indicated that the bids have
been opened and a memo from the Assistant Village Engineer has
been distributed which lists the bids received for each of the
two ( 2 ) projects.
This item corresponds with Regular Agenda item No 7 on the
9-26-89 VB Agenda.
CLOSING HOURS FOR LIQUOR ESTABLISHMENTS (Where Else Lounge)
Members noted that the courts have ruled that the
Agreed-to-Order does not take precedence over a subsequent
Village ordinance which changed the closing hours for liquor
establishments.
This finding is being taken to the Appellate Court by Don
Kontos of the Where Else Lounge.
MID-AMERICA TILE SIGN VARIATION ( 1650 Howard Street) ;
PORTILLO'S RESTAURANT ( 1500 Busse Road)
Staff indicated that representatives from each business
will be present at the VB meeting to discuss their requests.
NERGE ROAD AND ANDERS GUARDRAIL
Members concurred with Staff ' s recommendation to accept
Alternative No. 2 as proposed by the Cook County Department of
Highways which would replace the existing concrete barriers and
provide for the installation of a continuous guardrail along
Nerge and part way down the northwest section of Anders, and
ending just beyond the sidewalk. Under Alternative No. 2 ,
Anders would remain open.
Staff was directed to pursue the installation of a similar
guardrail at Arlington Heights Road and Cosman.
