HIGGINS ROAD BICYCLE OVERPASS
The Village Manager reported that the Forest Preserve
District has yet to respond to the State's request for them to
share in the cost of constructing the overpass.
RECYCLING GRANT
The Village Manager reported that the Health Department
is amending its multi-family grant application with the Illinois
State Department of Natural Resources, and still hopes to receive
$50,000 in grant money.
AMOCO TALAR FARM ANNERATIOB
The consensus of the Committee was for Village staff to
meet with the Amoco representatives to obtain more information
on the proposed annexation, and to find out why AMOCO is considering
annexation to Elk Grove rather than to Des Plaines. Staff will
then report back to the Village Board.
MARRIOTT HOTEL
The Village President reported that the Marriott Hotel
will open August 1, 1990 and will have a grand opening on September
13, 1990.
BIBSTERFIBLD ROAD 1AFROVBBEBTS
The consensus of the Committee was to allocate $200,000
in the FY 90-91 Budget for undertaking road improvements, and
for hiring a consultant to prepare a Phase I project report to
make the Biesterfield Road improvement project eligible for F.A.U.S.
funding.
The interim improvements would include the removal and
asphalting of the 4-foot median and the striping of three 10-foot
lanes and two 11-foot lanes.
FIRE DEPARTMENT USB OP OLD LIBRARY
The consensus of the Committee was for the Fire Chief
to examine and make recommendations on using the old Library on
a permanent basis rather than temporarily moving into the Court
Room. In addition, it was the consensus of the Committee to
allocate $100,000 to renovate the Library and $150,000 for
flood-proofing the Library building.
IBCCVW TAS SURCHARGE FUBD.S
The Village Manager reported that approximately $1,600,000
in income tax surcharge funds will be available. It was the
consensus of the Committee to meet at 7 p.m. on June 26 to
prioritize the spending of the Income Tax Surcharge Funds.
REVXW OP PROPOSED CAPITAL PROJECTS
It was the consensus of the Committee to make the following
changes to the proposed FY 1991-96 Capital Projects:
1. Biesterfield/I-290 Interchange: Add $3,000 for a sidewalk,
for a total budgeted expenditure of $1,526,000.
2. Biesterfield Road Traffic Corridor Improvement: Add $100,000
in FY 1991 for improvements and $100,000 in FY 1991 for Phase
1 engineering.
3. Enclose Elk Grove Boulevard ditch: Remove $2,000,000. Item
to be discussed with Income Tax Surcharge projects.
4. HQ Station Building Addition: Remove. Add in its place $600,000
in FY 1992 to expand Biesterfield Fire Station.
5. Relocate Landmeier Fire Station: Increase funds to $1,800,000
and move to FY 1996.
6. Library Renovation: Add $100,000 to FY 1991 to renovate the
Library building for Fire Department administrative occupancy.
7. Flood-proof old Library building: Add $150,000 to FY 1991
to berm the Library building.
