STREET LIGHT AT BIESTERFIELD AND BEISNER
Trustee Gallitano requested that staff examine whether a
street light is warranted at the intersection of Biesterfield
and Beisner Roads .
BIESTERFIELD ROAD - I-290 INTERCHANGE SIGNS
The Village Manager reported that a sign is being
manufactured indicating that no truck traffic is permitted on
Biesterfield west of Rohlwing. In addition, he noted that the
Director of Engineering and Community Development is in discuss-
ion with IDOT regarding a sign identifying the Biesterfield
interchange as Elk Grove Village.
President Zettek requested that staff inform IDOT that
the Route 53 South designation on the Biesterfield interchange
signs is confusing to motorists . In addition, Trustee Petri
requested that staff ask IDOT to change the sign identifying
Elk Grove on North West Highway so that the arrow points in the
other direction.
TAXI FARE RATE INCREASE
The consensus of the committee was for staff to prepare
an ordinance increasing taxi fares as requested by American Taxi .
The fare increase is to take effect January 1, 1991 .
SUBSIDIZED SENIOR CITIZEN TAXI FARES
The consensus of the committee was to amend the senior
citizen taxi fare program such that a flat rate of $2 . 00 will
be subtracted from the meter for senior citizens . The subsidy
will not be limited to municipal boundaries . The program
change is to take effect on January 1, 1991 .
In addition, staff will prepare a mailing to explain
the change in the taxi fares to those who hold PACE reduced
fare cards .
CIGARETTE VENDING MACHINE ORDINANCE
The consensus of the committee was for staff to
ascertain the availability of lock-out devices for electronic
cigarette vending machines and report back to the Board.
