EXPOSITION CENTER
President Zettek informed the Committee that the Exposition
Authority requests a Resolution of Intent by February 12,
1990 in order to receive State funding for the project. The
resolution is non-binding. An intergovernmental agreement
would be used later to bind the Village into a financial
commitment of funds for the Center. The intergovernmental
agreement would be completed at a later date and could either
be approved or rejected by the Village.
Consensus of the Committee is to meet on Monday, January
22, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the matter further. Staff
is to confirm the support of our local hotel/motel owners
for the Convention Center and the additional 2% tax.
