LOJACK STOLEN AUTO RECOVERY SYSTEM
The consensus of the Committee was not to participate
in the program.
POLICE DEPARTMENT DIVISION COMMANDER TITLE CHANGE
The consensus of the Committee was to change the
title of Police Department Division Commander to Deputy
Chief. An ordinance doing so will be on the next Agenda.
FLOODPROOFING FIRE ADMINISTRATION HEADQUARTERS
The consensus of the Committee was for Village Staff
to approach the Park District about regrading the Park
site west of Cypress (Olmstead Park) for use as
compensatory storage.
STREET LIGHTS
The consensus of the Committee was for Village Staff
to negotiate with the State on the cost-sharing proposal
for the installation of Street lights at the intersections
of Higgins and Arlington Heights Road, and Higgins and
Elmhurst Road.
In addition, the consensus of the Committee was for
the Village to assume energy and maintenance costs for a
street light to be installed at the intersection of Cosman
and Arlington Heights Road by the Cook County Highway
Department.
SYNCHRONIZE SIGNALS ON ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD
The consensus of the Committee was for Village Staff
to contact the Cook County Highway Department regarding
the feasibility of synchronizing the traffic lights on
Arlington Heights Road between Higgins and Biesterfield.
BOULEVARD DITCH ENCLOSURE
The consensus of the Committee was to enclose the
Boulevard ditch at an estimated cost of $2.9 million. In
addition, Staff is to develop costs associated with
widening the roadway to four lanes.
PENDING BUDGET ITEMS
The Consensus of the Committee was as follows:
1 . Wait for a report from Staff before deciding whether
to charge a fee for ambulance service;
2 . Increase the Paramedic pay differential;
3 . Do not hire two additional officers in the Police
Department;
4 . Do not purchase an additional squad car; and
5 . Do not hire a summer inspector in the Health
Department.
BUSINESS LICENSES
The consensus of the Committee was for Staff to
prepare a report on the licensing of landscape companies,
chimney sweeps, roofers, aluminum siding/gutter
.installers, blacktoppers, sealcoaters, and other
businesses considered appropriate by Staff. The report is
to examine the possible fee to be charged for the various
licensed services.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
