GARDEN CITY AGREEMENT
The Village Board reached the following consensus
regarding the franchise agreement with Garden City:
- The agreement will be limited to 3 years .
- The solid waste and recycling rates are acceptable.
- The cost of the yardwaste sticker, over the term of
the agreement, needs to be reduced to lessen the cost
to the users . Two revised proposals are to be
submitted: the first is to consider no changes in the
current method of collection; the second is to consider
price structures predicated on using Kraft paper bags
and toters only.
- The method of calculating receipts to the Village for
recyclables needs to be reconsidered; and
- The language re-opening the terms of the agreement due
to SWANCC requirements needs to be strengthened.
Garden City will submit a new proposal to Staff within
the next few days .
The meeting adjourned at 9 : 10 p.m.
