PROCHNO Village Trustee Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on 10/27/98 this Executive Session was called to consider a Liti ation matter. Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s) of review for release: July 1999 I Date of approval for release: r 10/27//98 7:15 p.m. LITIGATION The Village Attorney distributed a copy of the proposed referendum language submitted by the Friends Against Neighborhood Stadiums' (FANS) organization and compared it to the language drafted by him and Special Counsel Matthew Delort. The Village Attorney explained that the FANS language was vague and posed questions as to its equality. If FANS succeeded in placing their question on the April 1999 ballot, a legal challenge may be required by the Village. In addition, the Village Attorney noted that the Village's question essentially asked the same question and was legally acceptable. Upon further discussion, the consensus of the Village Board was to proceed with placing the referendum prepared by the Village Attorney on the April 13, 1999 ballot. An ordinance authorizing the referendum will be adopted at the October 27, 1998 Village Board meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. lk
