It was explained that Cambridge Homes has submitted a conceptual plan for multi-family use but had not proceeded due to multiple concerns identified by staff. The Village Manager explained that if Cambridge Homes withdrew their interest, Home Depot may be interested in developing the property. Should that occur it may be necessary for the Village to consider acquiring the wetland portion of that property for passive recreation uses, which may be necessary to induce Home DepQt to proceed. The Village Board discussed whether or not any type of development incentives should be offered to Home Depot due to the financial benefits they could provide to the tax base. Upon discussion, the consensus of the Village Board was as follows: • to wait t,.vo (2j weeks to see if Cambridge Homes is still interested in the property; and • to not consider the use of tax rebates as a potential development incentive. The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m. lk
