LAND ACQUISITION
The Village President brought the Village Board up to date on
discussions regarding the Chicago Bears Stadium development in Elk
Grove. The Village President stated that the Chicago Bears had been asked
to provide a written proposal to the Village describing the project, including
the role of the Village in the project development. The Village President
also stated that the Bears were currently negotiating with Allen Busse for
the purchase of his 70-acre parcel at $10 per sq. ft.
In addition, the Village President informed the Village Board that he,
the Village Attorney and Mary Riordan would travel to Washington, D.C. to
discuss stadium development with representatives of Prince George County
if the Bears make a formal proposal to the Village. Prince George County is
home to the Washington Redskins' Stadium, which was a privately financed
development.
The meeting adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
