Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly
scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on January 13, 1998 this
Executive Session was called to consider a Personnel/Litigation matter.

Personnel/Litiotion
The Village Attorney reviewed previous action and brought the
Village Board up to date on the status of Bob Arnold's pension
litigation. The Village Attorney stated that he was attempting to
negotiate a settlement with Arnold as directed by the Village Board on
December 9, 1997. However, it appeared unlikely that the Police
Pension Board would be willing to concur with the Village's
recommended settlement proposal.
The Village Attorney stated that Arnold was still being tested to
determine if he was fit for duty. Pending results of medical
examinations, the Village Board will need to make a decision on how to
proceed with litigation on January 27, 1998.
