Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly
scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on November 11. 1997
this Executive Session was called to consider a PERSONNEL matter.

PERSONNEL
The Village Board discussed removing the 15-mile residency requirement for
Fire & Police management in lieu of the recently signed contracts with the ]AFF and
F.O.P. unions. Upon further discussions, the consensus of the Committee was to
remove the residency requirements for all uniformed service personnel, except the
Police and Fire Chiefs. The residency requirement for the Village Manager,
Assistant Village Manager, and Department Heads still applies.
An ordinance amending the Municipal Code as it pertains to residency will
be placed on the December 9, 1997 Consent Agenda.
