The Village President brought the Village Board up to date on the
status of meetings held with the residents of the Huntington Chase
Subdivision regarding noise generated from the 1-290 expressway. The
Village President stated that he had informed the residents of the
subdivision that the Village was not responsible for the construction of
a sound wall or soundproofing of homes. He also stated that all homes
were built to code with the additional window glazing as requested by
the Plan Commission.
The Village President informed the Village Board that potential
litigation had been threatened by homeowners in Huntington Chase
and asked that no comments be made to the public on this issue.
The Village Attorney stated that the Village is not liable for the
existing noise conditions and has a defensible position with respect to
any potential litigation.
The meetings adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
