The Village Attorney stated that Hampton Inn was in violation of a special use permit which was issued in 1985, as part of an annexation. The special use permit allowed Hampton Inn to have a billboard on their property for a period of 12 years. It was the opinion of the Village Attorney that Hampton Inn violated the special use permit by signing a lease which allowed the billboard on their property through 1998. The Village Attorney recommended that the Village Board hold a public hearing to consider the revocation of Hampton Inn's special use permit. Without the permit, Hampton Inn cannot operate their hotel facility. Upon further discussion, the consensus of the Village Board was as follows: • to tentatively schedule a public hearing to consider the revocation of Hampton inn's special use permit on July 29, 1997; and • to have the Village President contact the President of Hampton Inn to see if they would consider removing the billboard at the conclusion of its lease in 1998. The meeting adjourned at 1 1: 15 p.m. Ik
