FEICHTER Village Trustee ,,i IG Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on March 25, 1997 this Executive Session was called to consider a personnel matter. PERSONNEL The Village Board reviewed a report from the Village Manager concerning anti-discrimination rules which limit membership in the 401 (a) program. The Assistant Village Manager noted that this item was approved on the Consent Agenda for the Village Manager to execute the agreement. The Village Board expressed a concern over the legal interpretation of the program, and the cumbersome requirements regarding equal investment among all participants which would limit enrollment. Upon further discussion, it was the consensus of the Village Board to have staff consult outside legal counsel to obtain advice regarding 401 (a) eligibility and application to Elk Grove. If the Village Manager is the only employee eligible to participate in the program, he would be permitted to do so, but the Village Board would prefer a broader application, if possible.
