Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly
scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on December 15. 1998
this Executive Session was called to consider a Personnel matter.

Executive Session/Personnel Committee
Life Insurance Benefit Program
The Personnel Committee discussed the Human Resources Officer's December 11, 1998
report regarding the Life Insurance Benefit Program.
The Committee and other Board members present reviewed the report and discussed the
process of selecting Met Life, the goals of the search, and benefits derived from a change
in Life Insurance Carriers.
It was shown how the Village would save money, employees would save money, and the
benefit itself would be expanded for employees.
The consensus of the Personnel Committee was to make the following recommendations
to the Village Board.
1. That the Village change the Life Insurance Benefit carrier effective March 1,
1999.
2. That staff review the Benefit Plan change with representatives from all unions.
3. That retirees will continue to be provided with the option to purchase$5,000 in
Basic Term Life Benefit.
4. That all employees receive communication on the plan during individual
enrollment.
5. That all employees who elect not to participate sign a waiver.
